Q: What is the program of the day?
A: The program of the LED 2020 will be published on this website as soon as it is finalized. Please note that we expect all students to participate during the entire day. Leaving earlier can result in a place on the blacklist and a fine.
Q: What is the dress code for the LED?
A: The dress code for the LED is “Business Formal”. This means men are expected to wear a suit including tie, and women are expected to wear a suit. We highly recommend you to dress according to the dress code, since companies will take this into consideration when making a profile of you. You can dress casually for the party at the end of the day.
Q: Where will the LED 2020 take place?
A: At the NBC Congress Center in Nieuwegein, and at the neighbouring Woonindustrie-Beursfabriek. More information and a route planner can be found here.
Q: Where will the party take place?
A: The party will be held at Club Stairway, which is located within walking distance from Utrecht Central Station and the hostels. The address is Mariaplaats 11, Utrecht.
Q: Where will the overnight stay be?
A: The overnight stay will be at the hostels ‘StayOkay Utrecht Centrum’, ‘Hostel Strowis’, and ‘Stone Hostel’, which are all located within walking distance from Utrecht Central Station and the party location. We will let you know which hostel we booked for you in January 2019.
Q: I am an international student. Can I still come to the LED?
A: Yes. To make sure the LED is also open for international students, many companies offer their cases in English. This is indicated by a British flag next to the case description. The LED Talks and plenary sessions will be in English as well.
Q: What are the registration costs?
A: The costs for participation are 7.50 euro. This price includes: a lunch, networking drink, recruitment dinner, a goodie bag and entry to the party at the end of the day. For 7.50 euro extra you can have an overnight stay at a hostel in Utrecht.
Q: Do I have to upload a CV?
A: No. In order to keep the LED available for all econometrics students, we do not use CV selection.
Q: What companies should I choose?
A: Let the MUMM help you choose your companies. By answering several questions it gives you a recommendation of which companies suit your interests.
Q: What is the MUMM?
A: MUMM stand for Make Up My Mind. By answering a few questions it recommends companies that suit your interest. Have a look at the MUMM.
Q: What is the difference between the company fair and a company case?
A: The company fair is an element of the LED that provides an alternative for attending a company case. The company fair takes place parallel to the morning and afternoon case rounds and is preceded or followed by the LED Talks. Both at the morning and the afternoon company fair, you will have the opportunity to meet over 20 different companies from many different fields all at once. The companies present at the fair will vary for the morning and afternoon. You can find an overview of all companies and the parts at which they participate in the profiler.
Q: Can I attend both the morning and afternoon LED Talks and company fair?
A: It is not possible to attend both the morning and afternoon LED Talks and company fair. However, it is still possible to attend both a morning and afternoon company case. To summarize, your options are to attend:
– the morning company fair & LED Talks and an afternoon company case;
– a morning company case and the afternoon company fair & LED Talks;
– a morning company case and an afternoon company case.
Q: Can I check or edit my preferences after my registration?
A: Yes. You can check and edit your preferences until 11 December 2019. To do so, you need an Eventbrite account, which can be found at the bottom of your order confirmation email. In your account, go to your profile in the top right corner and select “Tickets”. When you select your ticket, you can press “Edit” to change your preferences.
Q: I forgot to add an overnight stay to my registration. Can I still do this?
A: It is not possible to add an overnight stay to your ticket yourself after finishing your order. If you want to add an overnight stay after registering, please send an email to email@example.com.
Q: If I register, do I have to stay the entire day?
A: Yes. It is mandatory to stay until after the dinner. If you leave earlier without a valid reason, you will be put on the blacklist and receive a fine of 70 euro.
Q: I registered for the LED 2020, but something has come up and I cannot go anymore. How do I unsubscribe?
A: Send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. You can unregister without any additional costs until the 24th of January 2020. After this date, you will receive a fine of 50 euro. If you do not show up on the day itself without a valid reason, you will be put on the blacklist and receive a fine of 70 euro.
Q: Do I have to stay over at the end of the day?
A: No. If you have to travel far, or want to go to the party for example, you can select the option to stay over at a hostel in Utrecht for 7.50 euro. If you registered for the hostel, but do not show up, you will have to pay a fine of 35 euro to cover the costs we made for you.
Q: How do I get a refund of my travel expenses?
A: Make sure to keep the receipt of your travel ticket or make an expenses overview on https://www.ov-chipkaart.nl/my-ov-chip.htm. Send this to your study association, and we will make sure that you get your refund. (Note: It is not possible to get a refund without a receipt or expenses overview.)
